Description

This 6 week evening upholstery course is an ideal and affordable introduction to learning traditional upholstery techniques. Come along to our Staple Hill studio with your own project and finally restore that piece of cherished furniture, all with the expert guidance of our tutor. This it the perfect course for beginners or those wanting to improve their skills. On booking we will send you the course information which will give you ideas about suitable projects but if you would like to receive this in advance please email us. The course fee includes use of tools and consumables. What to bring: - A chair/piece of furniture of your choice - Top fabric (upholstery weight) Basic consumables such as staples, tacks, polywadding etc are included in the price of the course. All other materials to complete your project, such as various stuffings, hessian, ultraflex and tarpaulin will be charged at trade rate, you can expect to pay anything between £10-£50 extra depending on the size of the project. Class times are 6:30pm-9:30pm. Maximum 5 students each with separate workbench. Please note: Unfortunately there is no space to store your furniture at the studio between classes every week so please choose a project you can transport to and from class. About the tutor: Louise O'Brien runs an upholstery studio in Bristol which has a focus on using natural materials. She holds a level 2 qualification from the Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers and is excited to share the craft of upholstery with others.
