Machine Sewing Courses

At Creative Space we offer regular structured sewing courses and workshops for beginners wanting to learn the basics of machine sewing. We also run a variety of follow on courses including dressmaking, where you can learn how to decode a pattern and make your own pyjama bottoms, or tackle sewing with stretch fabrics on our advanced workshop. We also teach kids and teen beginner sewing and intermediate classes, plus one-off sewing days in the holidays, which you can also find here.

 Join Lizzie in this friendly 3-hour workshop in Bristol and discover the mindful magic of embroidery. Lizzie will guide you through 7 essential stitches, giving your creative projects a beautiful boost of texture and detail. ​ All materials are provided – simply come along and learn a new skill that's both rewarding and wonderfully calming. Suitable for adults and children from 10 yrs. £30

Join Lizzie in a 3 hour intermediate Embroidery Workshop, designed for those who have a grasp of the basics and are looking to expand their stitch repertoire. This workshop is the perfect next step, building on the fundamental stitches you've already learned. You will discover how to transform and develop stitches like the back stitch and stem stitch into more intricate and beautiful designs. In this mindful and creative session, you will master 6 new stitches, adding depth and texture to your future projects. Suitable for children from 10 years. £30

Ready to take your stitching into the third dimension?

Join Lizzie for the third and final installment of her hand embroidery series! This advanced workshop is designed for those who have mastered the basics and are ready to push the boundaries of their craft by exploring 3D and raised embroidery techniques. Building on the skills from the Beginners and Intermediate sessions, this workshop shifts focus from the flat surface of the fabric to creating sculptural, tactile art. You will learn how to use specialized stitches and techniques to build height, volume, and intricate detail, giving your work a professional and artistic flair. £30
