Available spots
Description
In this hands-on sea glass jewellery workshop, you’ll learn essential jewellery-making techniques including sawing, soldering, filing, hammering, hand-stamping, and finishing sterling silver. Fiona from Jewellery Moves will guide you through creating your own bezel setting and setting pieces of sea glass into a ring, pendant, or pair of earrings. Suitable for complete beginners, this workshop is also perfect for those with some experience who want to build on their existing skills. You are welcome to bring your own seaglass but not all pieces will be suitable. A good selection will be available on the day. The cost of the silver is not included in this workshop. The approximate cost of these materials is £30 - £70 (depending on how much you make) and payable to the tutor on the day. Please make sure that hair is tied back, you wear closed shoes and bring your glasses if you wear them. This workshop is suitable for beginners. Minimum age is 14 years, children 16 years and under must be accompanied by a participating adult who has booked a place. About the teacher: Fiona Dowling is the owner, designer and maker behind Jewellery Moves. She has 20 years experience in the Jewellery Industry, a BA from Edinburgh College of Art and an MA from the Royal College of Art, London. Fiona loves passing on her skills to others and champions the idea that ‘the experience is as precious as the jewellery you make!’.
