Description
A 3 week evening course to follow on from our Beginner Machine Sewing course or for anyone who wishes to improve on existing skills and build more confidence using a sewing machine. On this course you'll learn patchwork and quilting techniques whilst making your own cushion cover along with learning how to insert a zipper into your cover. PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to have completed our Beginner Machine Sewing course but we do require you to have a basic level of skill and confidence using a sewing machine, including threading and setting up your machine. You will learn: - Creating a patchwork design - Cutting fabric from a pattern - Using bias binding and creating a piped edge - Using a zipper foot and inserting a zip into a cushion cover - Quilting techniques - General troubleshooting - Achieving a professional finish WHAT'S INCLUDED? We provide zips, wadding, piping and bias binding for the cushion cover along with the paper templates. You will be required to bring your own main fabrics for the patchwork design. Sewing machines and accessories provided but you are welcome to bring your own and we do encourage this if you intend to use your own machine at home. This course is run over 3 weekday evenings from 7-9:15pm at our location in Staple Hill. Maximum 7 students each with separate work benches.
