Available spots
Description
In this whole day stained glass workshop, you will make a colourful, light-filled hanging glass mosaic for your home or garden. You'll be able to choose from a wide selection of glass colours to create your mosaic hanging, you'll then learn how to cut the glass to your design and end the day with your own beautiful piece of art for your outdoor or indoor space. During the day you will create a design, learn how to cut glass and glue onto an acrylic backing. You will use grout to fill the gaps and clean your piece before taking it home to show off in your outdoor space, or window if you don’t have a garden or prefer to display it indoors. Acrylic templates will be provided and you can choose from a range of shapes. You can use your own design or choose from a selection of designs and ideas. Alternatively, use an abstract design and simply be inspired by beautiful glass and glass beads. The completed piece will have a pre-drilled hole and you will use a cord for hanging up. All materials and use of tools are included. Maximum of 8 students. Minimum age to attend is 16. Course times are 10am-4pm with a break for lunch. This workshop is for complete beginners, no experience necessary. Tea and coffee is included during the day but please bring your own lunch or pick something up from the local High Street. There is ample free parking in the streets outside and around the venue. Essential Info: Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron. There is no use of lead in this workshop so is suitable for pregnant women.
