Course description
This 2 day course is perfect for anyone with existing machine sewing skills who would like to learn clothes making in a guided, supportive teaching environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in a creative project and make a piece of clothing to treasure for years to come! The Iris dress features an A-line shaped lantern skirt with side pockets and a clever exposed binding between the skirt panels. The pattern includes options for a sleeveless V-neck dress or a sleeved dress with a round neck. With no closures, the Iris Dress slips on easily over the head. It also looks fantastic made up in two tones. Included in the course is the Tessuti Fabrics Iris Dress pattern and you will be required to bring a fabric of your choice along with a matching thread. Lauren will teach you how to cut your pattern pieces, create in-seam pockets, darts, neck bindings and how to hem your dress. You’ll also learn essential tips and tricks for dressmaking that you can apply to your future projects. This is an advanced beginner course so basic knowledge and confidence using a sewing machine is essential. If you are a complete beginner please sign up to our Beginner Machine Sewing workshop first. The course is designed to be taught on your own sewing machine but if you do not have one we have entry level machines available to use for free. All sewing accessories are included for use if you do not have your own. Recommended fabrics: lightweight or medium weight linens, cottons, medium weight drapey silks and lightweight wool crepe. Fabric requirements: 140 cm wide fabric: Version A or B, 2.00 - 2.50 m // Two-tone version - bodice and hem panel, 1.35 - 1.45 m // Two-tone version - skirt panel, 0.95 m. Sizing: XXS – XL (approx. UK 8/10 – 18) Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations by Creative Space: • In the event we need to cancel the course or workshop for whatever reason you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another date free of charge. Cancellations by the attendee: • For courses booked and paid directly through Creative Space a refund of 85% will be given up to 14 days prior to the course start date. The fee is to allow for admin and payment processing costs. If a student cancels within 14 days we are unable to offer a refund. • If your circumstances change e.g. due to work commitments, childcare issues, moving away etc. a refund will not be given within 14 days of the workshop. • We consider all requests on an individual basis, depending on the circumstances. Rescheduling: • You may transfer to another course or workshop up to 14 days before the start date.
