Copper Foiled Feather

Description

Make a beautiful copper foiled decorative glass feather hanging at our studio in Staple Hill. This is the perfect workshop for beginners where you can learn all about the traditional craft of copper foiling. In this hand-on day course you'll be able to choose from a wide selection of glass colours to make your feather hanging out of, you'll then learn how to cut and solder the glass pieces together and end the day with your own hanging for the home or garden. Our experienced tutor will enable you to get a good grounding in the core skills, whilst also enabling you to finish your piece during the day ready to take home and show off! Learn about different types of glass and choose from a wide range of colours and textures to suit your style. All materials and use of tools are included. Maximum of 7 students. Minimum age to attend is 16. Course times are 10am-4pm with a break for lunch. Tea and coffee is included during the day but please bring your own lunch or pick something up from the local High Street. There is ample free parking in the streets outside and around the venue. Essential Info: Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron. About the teacher: Karen Bosanquet has been working at the Creative Glass Guild for over 20 years, teaching both beginners and accomplished stained glass veterans. She gives lessons in stained glass, restoration, fusing and glass painting while her personal work focuses on animals and nature. Karen loves passing on her knowledge and teaching new skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere giving her students the confidence to go it alone.
