Description

An opportunity to learn a new skill from scratch to make a selection of beautiful copper foiled Christmas decorations! Whether you want to use your teacher's templates or design your own with guidance, you will choose from a beautiful selection of colourful glass and learn the copper-foiling technique; a modern stained glass construction process. You can expect to make 3 - 6 decorations, depending on your speed of making and complexity of your designs. This workshop utilises the full process from start to finish, and you will receive all of the necessary information to continue copper-foiling with confidence should you wish to pursue it further. All materials and use of tools are included. Minimum age to attend is 16. Tea and coffee is included during the day but please bring your own lunch or pick something up from the local High Street 3 minute walk away. There is ample free parking in the streets outside and around the venue. Essential Info: Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron. Due to the use of lead it is recommended that pregnant women do not attend. About the teacher: Karen Bosanquet has been working at the Creative Glass Guild for over 20 years, teaching both beginners and accomplished stained glass veterans. She gives lessons in stained glass, restoration, fusing and glass painting while her personal work focuses on animals and nature. Karen loves passing on her knowledge and teaching new skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere giving her students the confidence to go it alone.
