Description

We all know what it’s like to purchase an item of clothing that doesn’t quite fit or an old favourite where the seam is coming apart, or you love the fabric but don’t like the style? This clothes alteration sewing workshop will help you bring your wardrobe back to life. Within the 3 hours and depending on the project, you should go home with 2-3 altered, repurposed items. We have a supply of fabric, buttons and thread for alterations, or you may wish to bring your own if you have a particular idea/colour etc. You can also bring your machine or use one of ours for free if you don't have your own. Beginner hand and machine sewing skills is required for this workshop. ABOUT SUSTAINABLE FASHION WEEK - 26th September to 4th October Clothes matter. Clothes are essential for functionality, but they are also a way we can present ourselves and our personalities to the world. But it matters how clothing is produced as it has such a significant impact on both people and planet. Sustainable Fashion Week is an annual event helping to raise awareness and make sustainable fashion accessible through community engagement. Taking a creative, grass roots approach, the movement will seek to empower people with skills and knowledge to help drive positive change in our relationship with clothes.
