Course description
Be inspired by coloured or natural Agate and use a mosaic or abstract style or a design of your choice to make your own stained glass hanging. Learn to cut glass to your design using glass and mosaic cutters then glue, grout and clean the finished piece. You will be using a 17cm circle with a leaded surround which includes a chain. In this hand-on day course you'll be able to choose from a wide selection of glass colours to create your hanging and you'll then learn how to cut the glass to your design and end the day with your own hanging for the home or garden. Our experienced tutor will enable you to get a good grounding in the core skills, whilst also enabling you to finish your piece during the day ready to take home and show off! Learn about different types of glass and choose from a wide range of colours and textures to suit your style. Our tutor will have a selection of design ideas for you to choose from or why not create your own and make it truly one-of-a-kind. All materials and use of tools are included. Maximum of 8 students. Minimum age to attend is 16. Course times are 10am-4pm with a break for lunch. This workshop is for complete beginners, no experience necessary. Tea and coffee is included during the day but please bring your own lunch or pick something up from the local High Street. There is ample free parking in the streets outside and around the venue. Essential Info: Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron.
